If you’re looking for a pick-me-up post-dinner, the Espresso Martini is here to jolt you awake with its boozy magical powers. The story goes that the famous Espresso Martini cocktail was created in the 80s in Soho, London. The confusing combination of coffee and vodka is surprisingly delicious. To achieve this delicious little devil, it is important to use a good quality espresso shot.
40ml Italian Espresso Coffee*
25ml Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
10ml Sugar Syrup (to taste)
*For this cocktail Union Roasted Recommends: Yirgacheffe (Ethiopia) Coffee Beans
Step 1: To make the sugar syrup put it in a pan with a medium heat and add 50 ml water. Stir and wait until it boils. Leave the sugar syrup to cool.
Step 2: Once the syrup is cold, put 1 tablespoon of it into a shaker and add the vodka, espresso and coffee liqueur.
Step 3: Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled Martini glass.
Step 4: You can garnish your Espresso Martini with coffee beans on top.
